Meet Valerie from the Netherlands who combines her university studies with Danish language courses and an active leisure time in the Danish Scouting movement. The combination of the language course and her involvement in a local Danish organization helps to strengthen both her language skills and her understanding of Danish culture.

At the global company Alfa Laval, the working language is English. Nonetheless, over the past 1.5 years, the company has offered its foreign employees the opportunity to learn Danish during working hours. It’s all about well-being and retention, because when the employees are able to communicate in Danish in their daily lives, their wish to stay in Denmark increases.

Utsav Jain originally qualified as a software engineer in India. A brief work assignment in Denmark in 2017 marked the beginning of a journey into Danish language, culture, and working life. And now, Utsav has in many ways reached his dream destination.
